Special Character Leaders give the homily for Mission Sunday - Go and make disciples of all nations.

Msgr Trevor asked us to speak to you today on the topic - Go and make disciples of all nations. We thought about this and decided to talk about our “Faith in Action.”  Through our Baptism, we are called to be Royal, Prophetic and Priestly. So we want to share with you some of the ways we have put our faith into action over the last few years.
Firstly, as Catholics, we are called to be royal, prophetic and priestly.
Royal - means to serve others and work for justice - tika and peace - Rangi Marie. We do this by serving at the weekly Community Lunch; raising money for Caritas to purchase goats, chickens, safe drinking water, water filtration, training teachers; speaking at the International World Day of Prayer; being Peer Mediators

To be Prophetic - means to witness to Christ through our words and actions. We do this by caring for God's creation and planting shrubs throughout the school; being an Environ school; taking care of the gully; cleaning up the lakefront and beach; providing toiletry packs for the Women's Refugee and homeless; visiting and entertaining the elderly; hosting parishioners and parents after mass; providing Mother's Day gifts for the women of the parish; hosting Mother's Day morning tea for those mothers on their own; purchasing children's books for the Waikato Resettlement Centre; collecting 'Bread tags for Wheelchairs'

To be Priestly means to worship God. We do this by participating in masses & morning liturgies; daily prayer; take home prayer bags; participating in the Sacramental programme; and holding a range of different ministries within the parish.
